The following can be attributed to Tim Quilty, Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria:
“Mr Gepp is right in asserting that families want the best possible care for their children. However, this is not going to happen by adding more and more regulations which will drive up costs and reduce the number of people wishing to enter the industry.
The Andrews Government wants to make sure there is as much red tape as possible and either don’t know or don’t care that this will make early childhood education harder to afford for many working parents.
This is an important sector and I admire the hard work and dedication of those who work in it.
We want to make sure they are able to offer their services to as many people as possible – by lowering costs – which can only happen when we rid ourselves of the over-regulation so beloved of Mr Gepp and his cohort.”
