Tim Quilty happy with border reopening, but lack of information proves we don’t matter
Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty says he is “absolutely delighted” to see Victorian border checkpoints gone, but has criticised the complete lack of information from the Victorian Government about it.
Police stopped checking vehicles entering the state on Friday evening and checkpoint infrastructure was dismantled over the weekend, but Mr Quilty said the lack of information about the change was “in typical Andrews style”.

Tim Quilty says gender conversion therapy bill is a threat to freedom of choice
Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty will oppose the Victorian Government’s controversial bill aimed at prohibiting gender conversion therapy, which he is calling “case of government overreach in an attempt to stop an unsafe practice”.
The Andrews Government’s Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill is designed to prevent members of the LGBTIQA+ community being forced into conversion therapy but, says Mr Quilty, it goes too far and ends up preventing consenting adults from making an informed choice.

Tim Quilty attends as guest of Wodonga Council to celebrate Australia Day
Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty celebrated Australia Day today as a guest of Wodonga Council on an uncharacteristically damp January morning.
The weather outside may have been wet and grey but that did nothing to diminish the warmth of the welcome shown by the guests to all the new Australian citizens and Australia Day award winners.

Tim Quilty demands an end to border closure now that new COVID cases in NSW rest at zero
Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty is demanding the Victorian Premier end the border closure now that there are no new local COVID-19 cases in NSW.
The Andrews Government downgraded all of NSW on its COVID map on Friday night, classifying all of regional NSW green and all of metropolitan Sydney orange.

Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty has added his name to a letter asking Prime Minister Scott Morrison to help address the damage caused by border closures.
The letter, bearing the signatures of six minor party and independent Victorian and NSW MPs, requests the National Cabinet set down a uniform, evidence-based approach to future state border closures, including what would trigger a closure – and an opening – and what a border bubble should look like.
