Tim Quilty says passing of Omnibus Bill is another nail in freedom’s coffin

Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty spoke this morning after the Andrews Government’s Omnibus Bill successfully passed through the Upper House at 2am.

The Bill had attracted overwhelming criticism for extending the Premier’s powers over Victorians, to the extent that the Government had to make a series of amendments to pass it.

Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty has claimed the Andrews Government backdown on its controversial Omnibus Bill is “a win for democracy”.

The Bill had passed through the Lower House and was facing a rocky path through the largely unsympathetic Upper House, where Mr Quilty sits.

Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty has pointed to the arrest of pregnant Ballarat mum Zoe Buhler as a reason why he was so opposed to the Victorian Government’s emergency powers extension.

A spine-chilling video released yesterday shows police entering Ms Buhler’s home and handcuffing her in front of her children and husband, all because of an anti-lockdown Facebook post.
